bending backwards is a work inspired by David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks, one of the most singular television shows in history. While the show is dense, abstract, and often surreal, the story it tells of Laura Palmer, the homecoming queen whose murder shocks the town of Twin Peaks, is one of empathy and compassion, and not of pity or judgement. bending backwards captures this empathy and compassion while retaining elements of the surreal.
